Take a deeper dive in to these sites to enhance your social recruitment marketing.

Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn: The mainstays of many healthcare recruitment marketing plans. Certainly it makes sense given Facebook’s 30 million business pages, Twitter’s hundreds of million tweets per day and LinkedIn’s 500 million users. But looking beyond the big three, there are other social media sites that offer the same targeting opportunities with less noise, clutter and competition.

Pinterest

What is it?

Pinterest is like an online pinboard—mostly for collecting visual pieces of multimedia. Users can upload, save, sort, and manage images—known as pins—and other media content (e.g., videos) through collections known as pinboards. Content can also be found outside of Pinterest and similarly uploaded to a board.

Why use it for recruitment?

Accoding to DMR, a statistics reporting website for business, Pinterest has over 70 million users in the U.S. alone with over 1 million businesses taking part in “Pinning.”

You can start by creating Boards for each job offering or job area that you want to highlight. Boards can speak to the culture and working environment for your employees, such as “Nursing Life at (your company name). You can also create boards that promote your organization’s commitment to community causes and many other topics. Pinterest offers healthcare employers many opportunities to boost awareness and increase traffic to their website.

Snapchat

 What is it?

Launched in September 2011 and now 180 million users strong, Snapchat is a hugely popular multimedia messaging app.  One of the principal concepts of Snapchat is that pictures and messages are only available for a short time before they become inaccessible.

Why use it for recruitment?

According to Snag, a leading job site for hourly positions, the average Snapchat user under the age of 25 checks the app at least 20 times a day.

That kind of activity and engagement presents a prime opportunity for healthcare organizations to get their open positions in front of potential candidates.

Sponsored stories are images and/or videos that last for 24 hours. Snapchat allows for a good amount of freedom for your story ideas so don’t be bashful about getting creative. Some companies, such as Cisco for example, allow employees to create and post their own content.

Spotify

 What is it?

Launched in October 2008, Spotify is a music, podcast, and video streaming service with over 140 million active users.

 Why use it for recruitment?

Spotify gives healthcare employers the ability to reach users on any device, in any environment, during any moment of the day whether it be mobile, tablet desktop or web.

Recruitment messages can be served as streaming audio commercials as well as video and display ads on mobile and desktop devices. The ads are also served to demographic-based and interest-based audience segments, including age, gender and language.

Periscope

 What is it?

Periscope enables you to “go live” via your mobile device anytime and anywhere. The app enables you to become your own “on the go” broadcasting station, streaming video and audio to any viewers who join your broadcast.

Why use it for recruitment?

Live streaming is somewhat commonplace now in recruitment marketing and Periscope is one of the best apps out there for it. Periscope is very effective for live streaming events such as general information sessions – where candidates can ask questions of recruiters on the organizations’ open positions and learn more about the opportunities. Periscope can also be used for general promotion such as hiring events to “A Day in the Life” segments of some of your star employees.

Utilized sites like these in your recruitment marketing plan can help introduce your healthcare employer brand to new audiences as you present your marketing messages in new and creative ways.
